What is Email Audience?
Email Audience is a group of Subscribers created for email marketing purposes. In Emailit, Audiences are stored under the "Audience" menu tab. In the Audience menu tab, you can create, import, store, manage and delete your Audiences. You can also Tag and Segment your audiences there to send more personalized content and offers.
You can send regular email Campaigns to the Audience, such as monthly newsletters, or make them a subject of the Email Automation. You can send campaigns to the Audiences under the "Campaigns" menu tab and create automation in "Automations". If you want to learn more about it, check out our Help Center Library.
One Audience vs. Many Audiences
As a general rule, we recommend keeping and maintaining only one primary Audience. With all subscribers in one place, you will have better insight helping your business decision-making. It will help you simplify your sending process and have a solid one-place overview of how your business and email marketing are performing.
Additionally, it is more user-friendly for your subscribers. If a subscriber wants to unsubscribe from the newsletter, he would have to do it only once and not repeat the procedure every time he gets an email Campaign from you, where he is still a part of an Audience.
If you want to personalize email campaigns, we highly encourage you to use Tagging and Segmentation instead of creating new Audiences. You can constantly update and manage your Tags with the latest data manually for any subscriber or through the mass upload. If you want to learn more about managing subscribers' Tags, we recommend reading the "Audience Tags" Article.
However, in the situations where the two emailing groups are way too distinct from each other, or the emails you send are confidential and should never reach a wrong user, you might consider creating two or more different Audiences.
For example, a design furniture company could have two separate emailing lists for their B2B Real Estate clients, offering them development design projects and their B2C clients, offering them individual pieces. Or a SAAS company could have two emailing Audiences to communicate with the clients and send monthly promotion newsletters to their employees.
